Burr Its Cold

22 01 2009

Well when not at work I have been bundled up… I did get out my scarf project and I have been working on it.  There is a few inches more than in the picture.  I am going to visit the family this weekend so I hope to have it finished by Sunday!

Other than the scarf I am not doing an other knitting just because I am moving and it is packed… I will be back in the swing soon!

As an aside, I am also thinking about starting my own cooking business.  I want to be a personal chef.  I am doing a lot of research about it!

If you know anyone in the field please send me a email or leave a comment!!

Miss me?

17 01 2009

I didn’t think so… well there have been a monument of changes that have occurred in my life… Since September my man and I are no longer together (we weren’t married) yet it was hard.  I have started a new creative path in the sense I went back to school and started taking culinary!  Yes I do cook and cook well ;o).  I have changed a lot in 2008.  I had made some resolutions back in 2008 to do with my craftiness and well they subsided due to the ever changing of my life.  I do hope to fulfill more of those this year.

On the needles currently:

- Green Scarf

- Earth tone cowl (which was going to be a hat but is way too big)

- Knitty Fetching gloves

Those are my current projects… I am also trying to spin.  More to come on that since I have been reading some posts on it .

Just an aside for those I am MOVING… :o ) still in the same city but from an apartment to a house! I am excited.  It has a pool! Which will be wicked!

So far with my scarf

So far with my scarf

MIA

28 10 2008

Well I know I have been MIA… althought the weather is getting colder and that mean Little Miss is back in the knitting mood.

I have made some plans to pick up my sticks… so I will show you how that goes…

Spin issues!

12 08 2008

Well I am not to sure what i am doing wrong… But when i am using the drop spindle it seems as though some fibre is spinning into yarn where other bits in the strands seem like they are not spun at all.  This is very frustrating.

On the knitting front – (which has been very lax) I picked up my sisters sweater and knit a few rounds of it!  I don’t know if i will ever finish it some times.

I will post progress pictures and pictures of my over spun yet not spun strands…

Its been awhile!

6 08 2008

With school ending and new jobs starting the past few months have been a bit crazy here! I had ordered a drop spindle from the Black Lamb, in Port Hope Ontario. I choose the Ashford Student spindle just since I have never spun. Well I got it the other day and I was using it last night while I was waiting for the hamburgers on the BBQ.

Here is my progress shots… Any tips are openly welcome!

Should I Etsy?

24 04 2008

Well I have an Etsy account as a buyer right now. I am hoping that when I get my two funky sewing books and some experience under my belt I would like to sell my items on Etsy. I just don’t know what I would want to sell.

I have seen some food items such as Jams and spreads which I can make! Plus they are might good! Although I also see pretty sewn items that I want to make too. I just don’t want to step on anyone eles toes.

This was making Jam last summer – Note I would not do this if I were to sell the Jam! It was such an awesome picture. Everyone thought I actually licked the potato masher.

What a Short Trip

16 04 2008

Well we left at 8:45am yesterday, made it to the Peace Bridge at 10ish. I had to get gas and it was cheap I thought – It only cost 44$US to fill my tank (here it is more like 50$CDN).

My girlfriend wanted to go to the Walden Galleria so I did not have much time by the end.

We did not go to those two yarn stores I had wanted to visit!! But! I did go in to Michaels and I was hoping for great yarn we dont have here in out stores. It was all the same! I was very sad and it was the quickest Michaels shop I have done to date.

When we got back into the city I stopped at a LYS here. My goal of the trip was to find the Malibrigo yarn, which I did not. Although while at the LYS I was inspired by the Manos del Uruguay (Ravelry Link). I have decided for my next project I am going to make: Red Ginger Cowl, it is inspired from the Dolores Park Cowl. I am going to go back to the LYS and check out the Manos and pick a great colour!

I am going on a TRIP!

15 04 2008

I am going to Buffalo tomorrow!

Planning on visiting:

- Have Ewe Any Wool??

- Karma Knitting & Clothing

It is just a day trip so I can’t hit them all… I also want to go to the Michaels too… Just incase they have nicer yarn than here!

I will post pictures when I get back!!
